Artist jon almeda creates ceramic vases gourds and bowls that can fit on the tip of your finger. This project began with a 6 week artist residency at garinger high school in the spring of 2008 where the students and i collaborated to create one of the 3 designs for the tiles. These experiences instilled a permanent affection for the environment and is now the focus of pack s contemporary works in clay. What started as an experiment to see how small he could throw has morphed into a newfound passion for miniatures.
